If you ask me, the most intriguing romance is a forbidden one.

I tend to write about couples who “shouldn’t” be together, at least according to the world in which they live. That could mean a prince falling in love with his guardian knight, a human falling in love with a monster, or a demon falling in love at all.

I am a proud pansexual woman who has questioned (and struggled with) gender norms my entire life. This has, of course, caused problems for me (I’m looking at you, the year I wore a suit to prom! It was worth it though).

I find it incredibly refreshing to write characters who are diverse and comfortable in their genders and sexualities, so that’s exactly what I do. The “forbidden” aspect will come from elsewhere.
